For the past last weekends I have been taking lessons in Indian textile with talented designer
Shikha Chireux ;
chikankari embroidery and block printing... I love it ! Chikankari is usually done white on white, but we used coloured threads to see the shadow work better. It is difficult because all the stitches are reversible, since they are done on very fine cloth. Block printing is simply addictive...

These are really lovely, I can't decide which I like best, though I am quite partial to the elephants
Tu dois être ravie. Je me suis souvent arrêtée sur son site, c'est très tentant!
you're back !
Yesssss !
oh I just had a hunch it was time to check back here to see if you were posting again and here you are! I am so fascinated by block printing and wish I could see the work you are doing to close examination.
Had a weird dream the other day that I was making an elaborate string and bead project in a house I lived in back in the late 70's, in London. Mark Knopfler was there (like he looked back then, not now) and he said to me "Helene is making something similar right now that connects Paris to Mumbai." Though you would find that amusing!
Thank you all for your comments !
Muriel - je ne t'ai pas oubliée...
Acey, this is really very funny !
Love
Hélène
