Amazing !

I've just from my mum that her village is in turmoil ; a black cat has been spotted regularly since 11th November in the Fontainebleau forest... nobody is sure if it's a puma or a panther, but what's sure is that some areas of the forest are not recommended for walkers until further notice !

News clip here.

For the Kichwa, black pumas are the traditional guardian of the forests and the animal that maintains balance between the human and natural worlds. But this one is very far away from home...

More on the puma here (French) and here (English).

Ohmygosh -- I never dreamed that panthers or leopards existed in the forests of France! I do hope you will keep us posted of whatever is found.

Thanks for voting for my beaded art doll, Helene -- we won't know until January 15th which doll is the winner of the competition.

The funny thing is they've checked all the zoos and circus and no big black cat appears to be missing in the region ; since we don't have these animals in France naturally, the forest guards think it may have been abandoned by it's owner !

Can you imagine that ? "Have you walked the panther today, honey ?"

Yep, I'll tell you what happens eventually.

Hope you win the competition ! :o)

I thought it was
"Henri, have you fed your pet recently...Henri...HENRI?"
Seriously it looks like we're going to have to walk the children in the garden :-(

You're right lol "come along Henry"... Never mind, the dog is so crazy he would probably scare the puma off ! I'm worried for the rabbits and deers...

I wish I could spot him though ! You know the first thing I beaded in peyote stitch was a Puma...

Next time I will go to the forest Bleau for bouldering I will ask you if there are wild, dangerous animals around.
